L&H Homes and Longhurst Group present a cheque to Boston flood appeal
The townspeople of Boston have been putting their lives and their homes back together after the floods washed through the streets in December.
Support from the local community has been strong and donations for the flood appeal are still coming in. Local businesses Longhurst Group and L&H Homes have this week bolstered the fund with an additional £1,140. Chief Executive of Longhurst Group, Bob Walder, and Managing Director of L&H homes, Mike Hardy, attended a presentation on Friday [10th January] to donate £1,000 alongside money raised by staff working at their shared headquarters in Boston.
“As an organisation we wanted to make a donation to help the town get back on its feet, we’ve been working with the community in Boston for over 40 years and have never witnessed the town experience this crisis before. People are really pulling together to help those who were affected and it’s wonderful to see such community spirit. We’re proud that our staff decided to support the appeal by substituting Christmas cards for contributions and donating the money raised throughout the year by our office tuck shop,” commented Bob Walder
