The Residential Landlords Association has paid tribute to a Labour politician who passed away this week.
Paul Goggins, MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East, died in hospital on Tuesday after collapsing whilst out on a run in late December last year.
Mr Goggins helped establish the first All Party Parliamentary Group for the private rented sector, which the RLA provides the secretariat to, and served as the group's vice chairman.
His constituency was also the home of RLA's offices, and he chaired the organisation's fringe event at the 2013 Labour Party Conference.
RLA chairman Alan Ward said: “My colleagues and I at the RLA were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Paul Goggins.
“In playing such a big role in establishing the All Party Group for the Private Rented Sector Paul recognised the crucial importance of the sector.
“I will remember Paul as a kind, considerate and compassionate MP and extend our condolences to his family.”
