National housing provider for the over 55’s, Hanover Housing Association, in partnership with catering provider Elior Services Ltd have treated Hanover residents from Regency Court in Bromley to a 50th anniversary celebratory tea party.

In true come dine with me tradition; residents were treated to a selection of culinary delights such as sandwiches, scones, éclairs, and a special celebratory cake.

63 year old Jane Rodway said: “It gets a ten out of ten in my book. It’s not quite afternoon tea at the Ritz but it’s as close as it can be!”

Recent activities have included a series of fundraisers and the commissioning of nine think tank pieces which will help shape Hanover’s vision for the next 50 years.

Darran Dawes: “Elior said: “We are delighted to join Hanover in celebrating this anniversary event and being given the opportunity to sponsor the Afternoon Tea.  Since we started at Regency Court, we have focused on listening to what the residents would like to see on their menus and ensuring top quality meals are produced.  As a company we use only the finest fresh ingredients and take great pride in preparing fresh home cooked meals.  This fresh food approach has gone down a storm with the residents."

Diane Jamieson, Head of Operations Extra Care South Region, Hanover Housing Association added: “The afternoon teas have proved to be a bit of a treat for residents.”

In addition the tea parties have helped combat isolation by giving residents the chance to socialise and make some new friends.
