A Portishead-based organisation has been presented with a prestigious national award, which is given to just 3.2% of organisations in the UK.
The Alliance Homes Group, a community-based social enterprise, was awarded Investors in People Gold for going above and beyond in the way they develop, support and motivate their staff.
Clive Bodley, Group Chief Executive, said: "The Alliance Homes Group continually strives to develop the skills of its people. We can see a direct link between empowering our staff with the knowledge they need to do their jobs well and how this translates into an improved service for the communities we serve. It is wonderful to be given the highest level Investors in People award and it demonstrates our commitment to putting people at the heart of everything we do."
The Gold award has been awarded to fewer than 700 organisations in the country and celebrates those that perform beyond the core Investors in People Standard. The Standard provides a solid foundation for further growth and development and is awarded to well-run organisations which meet set criteria, including learning and development, leadership skills and recognition and reward of staff amongst others.
John Telfer, Managing Director of Inspiring Business Performance Ltd (IBP), the organisation that delivers Investors in People for London and the South, said: "The current economic climate makes it even more important that an organisation adapts to survive. The Alliance Homes Group is a shining example that proves organisations can achieve great things during challenging times."
