Sanctuary Group is moving forward with its planned development for land in Coningsby Street, Hereford.
The leading housing and care provider has been given approval for its plans to build 10 one bedroom apartments on the site, and has now appointed lead contractor, Seddon Construction, for the project.
The development will help provide much needed supported accommodation within the city, and is part of the wider regeneration taking place in Hereford city centre.
Gareth Scannell, Sanctuary’s development manager, said: “With Seddon Construction and our appointed architect on board, we have an experienced team working with us as we build these new homes.”
He explained that Seddon is working with Sanctuary on a number of its development projects and has also worked with other social housing providers and local authorities, while Oxford Architects have designed a similar supported accommodation scheme in Gloucestershire.
Work at the Coningsby Street development is set to get underway shortly and Sanctuary will be looking to create local training and employment opportunities on site during the construction of these new homes, due for completion early 2015.
