Grand Giveagift success
Grand Union Housing Group’s first Giveagift Appeal has been a huge success, benefitting children across the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire areas.
The Group, and its subsidiaries Aragon and MacIntyre Housing Associations and South Northants Homes, gathered hundreds of gifts from staff, customers and the public for children whose families may be facing hard times this Christmas.
Many gifts were handed out to the Group’s own tenants including women and children in Aragon’s two domestic violence refuges.
Alan Humphreys, Group Chief Executive, said: “This is the first year we have organised this appeal and we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our staff, customers and the general public who have brought gifts to our collection points.
“We are aware that many families are facing more difficult times this year so if we can help children in a small way we are happy to do so.”
Many of the gifts were donated to projects organised by Spurgeons children’s charity and to the Need Project, a foodbank with which Aragon has been working throughout the year in central Bedfordshire.
