More affordable homes in Rochford

Several families will be enjoying their first Christmas in one of ten recently completed new homes at the Brays Lane development in Rochford.
Rochford Housing, part of leading housing and care provider Sanctuary Group, will be taking a total of 35 affordable new homes from developer Bellway Homes at the Brays Lane site as part of its Affordable Homes Programme.
This £4 million scheme will be fully completed in early 2014, and all ten properties to be handed over to Rochford Housing in the first part of the allocation have already been rented or reserved. This included a mix of four apartments and three houses for rent, which are all now occupied, and three houses available for shared ownership purchase, which have all been reserved.
Karen Johnson, Mnaging Director at Rochford Housing Association, said: “Rochford is a great place to live and so it is not surprising that these high quality affordable homes have generated such interest. We certainly hope that those who have already moved in enjoy a fabulous first Christmas in their new home.”
She confirmed that excellent progress is being made on the remaining 25 properties – four apartments for shared ownership purchase and a mix of apartments and houses for affordable rent – with completion expected in the spring.
