City West Housing Trust has completed its first new build scheme - part of a £44 million investment to build much needed affordable homes in Salford, over the next three years.

The housing association, which owns and manages 14,600 properties across west Salford, has built 12 new two and three bedroom houses at its Wildbrook Road development in Little Hulton, while a further 8 properties at its £14 million flagship Amblecote Green development are now ready for customers to move in.

Colette McKune, Deputy Chief Executive at City West said: “Completing our first development is a really exciting milestone, and it marks the start of a bright new future for our customers and our business - in addition to making a fantastic transformation to the area.

“City West now has an ambitious house building programme to deliver and over the next two years we will be building more homes across Salford, benefiting and rejuvenating local communities.”

City West’s development programme includes a 66 unit extra care facility within its Amblecote Green development - which was part funded through a £1.5 million grant from the Department of Health.
