A Salford woman is hoping to spread some festive cheer after her design was chosen to be the official Christmas card for City West Housing Trust.

84 year-old Joyce Owen, who lives at City West Housing Trust’s College Croft sheltered scheme in Eccles, had her design picked from different entries submitted by residents at the housing association’s sheltered schemes across west Salford.

Lorri Holding, Older Persons’ Service Manager at City West said: “We asked customers from a number of our sheltered schemes to take part in a competition to design our Christmas card, and we received some really great entries.

“We hope everyone enjoys Joyce’s card, and want to wish all of our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

City West has a wealth of festive fun planned for residents at its sheltered and extra care facilities, including a pancake party at the Laurence Lowry care scheme in Swinton on December 12, gift wrapping at the De Traffords scheme in Irlam on December 18 and a number of festive parties and entertainment at all sheltered and extra care schemes in the run up to Christmas.

Lorri adds: “We’re proud to be putting on as many Christmas events as we can for our customers across West Salford, and hope everyone gets to take part in the great line up of events.”
