Celebrating the Considerate Constructors award at Arbourthorne
Sanctuary Group has praised its contractors for achieving such a high rating during a recent assessment under the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
The development site in Arbourthorne in Sheffield was visited by monitors from the scheme at the end of last month and Sanctuary’s contractors Keepmoat were presented with a ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’ certificate after achieving a mostly excellent rating.
The leading housing and care provider is developing 52 apartments for over 55s and four energy efficient bungalows on theErrington Roadsite in Arbourthorne, due for completion next spring.
David Soothill, Sanctuary’s Head of Development for the North, said: “We work closely with our contractors to ensure that all Sanctuary developments have a positive impact in the local community and we are delighted at the results of this assessment at our site in Arbourthorne.
“The report identified that the regular use of a road sweeper helps prevent spread of mud from the site on nearby roads and the project manager was praised for his efforts to keep local residents well-informed.
“The appointment of local apprentices on the site was also highlighted in the assessment, a particularly pleasing aspect for Sanctuary as our focus is always on the creation of jobs and training opportunities as well as new homes.”
He passed on his thanks to contractors for their hard work in achieving this rating under the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
Nathan Brough, Regional Operations Manager from Keepmoat, added: “We are extremely proud to have received such a high rating from the monitors. This is a great achievement for those working at the Arbourthorne site and reflects our efforts to work with the local community in order to minimise any inconvenience to them during the build.
“I’d like to congratulate and thank all members of the team at Arbourthorne who are consistently working to the highest standards of the Considerate Constructors scheme.”
The Code of Practice for the Considerate Constructors Scheme includes five separate measures – Enhancing the Appearance, Respecting the Community, Protecting the Environment, Securing Everyone’s Safety and Caring for the Workforce.
