Sandbank tenant Sue Colley is looking forward to her meat treat this Christmas as chair of Sandbank Tenant Management Organisation David Harvey brings in some festive food.
Residents at more than 250 households on aWalsallestate are in for a meat treat this Christmas as a thank you from their tenant-run housing organisation.
Sandbank Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) – part of Watmos Community Homes – is giving out vouchers to residents at each of its 253 flats so they can buy some festive meat from a local butcher.
The estate is managed by the tenants who live there and its committee decided to give out the meat vouchers to thank people for their support throughout the year.
Chair of Sandbank TMO David Harvey said: “We like to give something back to our tenants at Christmas as a thank you for being part of the wonderful community we have here.
“Every household should enjoy a voucher towards some meat of their choice and we wish everyone a very happy Christmas.”
Sandbank TMO is one of eight estates in Walsall which formed Watmos Community Homes - theUK’s first tenant-led housing association - after 1,750 homes were transferred to Watmos from Walsall Council in 2003.
Since then Watmos has transformed areas once blighted by crime and drugs into desirable places to live and now owns 2,700 properties acrossWalsalland Lambeth with hundreds of people waiting to move into its homes.
