Spectrum Housing Group and The Hyde Group have announced the completion of a stock swap, with the transfer of 101 homes on the Isle of Wight from Hyde to Spectrum and 179 homes in Portsmouth, Eastleigh, Fareham and Southampton transferred from Spectrum to Hyde.
The swap will provide residents on both sides with a more responsive and local service. The Hyde Group have a strong local presence in Hampshire, managing over 3000 homes whilst Spectrum has a significant presence on the Isle of Wight where it owns and manages around 4000 homes.
The move forms part of both organisations’ objectives to focus their activities in key areas to deliver improved access, customer care and value for money to residents.
Stuart Davies, Neighbourhood Services Director of Spectrum Housing Group said: “Spectrum has a great deal of expertise in stock transfers and we have successfully carried out similar transfers in North Devon, Cornwall, Bath and North East Somerset over the last couple of years,”
“We already manage The Hyde Group’s properties on the Isle of Wight so this transfer will have very little impact on residents but we hope that residents can now really feel that they are part of Spectrum, get involved and have a say about the services they receive.”
The transfer of these homes follows a formal six-week consultation, during which residents received information about how the transfer would affect them and had the opportunity to attend face-to-face events where they could discuss their concerns.
Jane Ball, Regional Director, Hyde South said: “Providing homes, building communities and helping people to meet and exceed their aspirations continues to be Hyde’s fundamental driving force. Having worked closely with Spectrum to ensure continuity of good services for our Isle of Wight residents we now look forward to welcoming our new residents. Hyde is committed to delivering the very best services and we anticipate our residents in Eastleigh, Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton will benefit from improved efficiencies, customer care and value for money following this transfer.”
