Jacky leads progress futures team

Progress Housing Group tenants can look forward to brighter futures following the housing group’s latest staff appointment. Jacky Howcutt, from Leyland, joined Progress Housing Group in October as Progress Futures Manager.
In her new role Jacky will be managing the housing group’s Progress Futures project. The project offers Progress Housing Group tenants and their families advice and support to improve their employment prospects, develop their skills and obtain further training or qualifications. Jacky and her colleagues work closely with each person who takes part in the project to make sure that the help and support they receive is tailored specifically to their needs.
Bernie Keenan, Executive Director (Housing, Communities and Support Services) for Progress Housing Group, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Jacky into her new role and are all really looking forward to working with her. The Progress Futures programme will ensure that our customers can access all the help and support they need to be successful in what is an increasingly competitive employment market. We are also very conscious that many of our tenants are suffering financially because of the government’s welfare reforms, making it even more important that they have the right skills and knowledge to find employment.
“Progress Futures gives our tenants a helping hand to build on their skills and education and provide a springboard into a new career. The support is always tailored to the needs of the individual and can include things such as temporary work, help in finding the right training or to pay for essential materials, help with job applications and much more.”
Jacky Howcutt, Progress Futures Manager for Progress Housing Group, said: “I am so pleased to be joining Progress Housing Group at such an exciting time. The Progress Futures project means that we can help those who are struggling to get into work, education or training by offering support and guidance and listening to what our customers want, and then tailoring a plan to meet their needs.”
Progress Futures can help with:
- Arranging training in basic job skills
- Finding and applying for training courses
- Arranging work experience, traineeships or apprenticeships, either within the Group or with other companies
- Preparing a CV and completing job application forms
- The cost of training or training materials
