Finding your dream home can be one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking experiences of your life.

But Jonathan Whitaker from Burnley got more than he bargained for when he began his house hunt earlier this year, because as well as finding his perfect home, he also found his calling.

Now a Home Sales Executive at Keepmoat’s latest development off Rosary Road in Oldham, Jonathan was so impressed by the homes on offer he decided to change career.

Soon after viewing a Keepmoat home, Jonathan handed in his notice to his job selling advertising space in order to take up a job selling living space.

“As soon as my wife and I started looking for a new build property, I knew I was meant to sell houses,” said 30-year-old Jonathan who has worked in sales since he was 22.

“We looked at Keepmoat homes across the North West and I got to know the sales staff really well.

“It was just one of those light bulb moments; I immediately knew I should change jobs.”

Not long after starting his house hunt, Jonathan sent an email to Keepmoat’s head office to ask about the possibility of working for the house builder.

“I ended up having an interview at Keepmoat’s Liverpool office and they offered me a job not long after,” says Jonathan who is looking forward to his future with the company.

Heading up Keepmoat’s sales office at the newly opened Rosary Gardens in Fitton Hill, Jonathan has already taken five reservations on properties at the development.

“I really enjoy selling the homes, and it helps that I am a recent house hunter myself.

“I know exactly what people want to know and what questions they will have – after all I was in their shoes just a few months ago.”

Shortly after landing his dream job Jonathan and his 28-year-old wife Suré brought a home at a Keepmoat development in Burnley.

Keepmoat launched its sales centre at Rosary Gardens in Fitton Hill last month. With the house builder currently constructing 65 homes on the first phase in Oldham.
