Eight residents at Oak Tree Court sheltered scheme, known for the day as the Tornados, ‘wore it pink’ as they took on scheme managers from Stockport Homes in a battle to be crowned the Wii bowling champions.
£311.82 was raised for the Breast Cancer Campaign through residents and staff donating money for the team they thought would win. Karen Marshall also baked tasty treats to raise extra money and keep everyone’s energy levels up.
On the day the tornados stormed ahead, winning the trophy five games to three.
Judith Jones, Older Persons’ Team Leader at Stockport Homes said of the event: “The residents, Hayley Penkett, Scheme Manager at Oak Tree Court and the scheme managers who played put in a lot of time and effort to make it fun for all those who came along to cheer them on. It was a great event for a wonderful charity. My team is in training for the rematch!”
