A Torro red Aston Martin DB9 became the show piece of an apprentice style showdown between two groups of housing professionals, as it roared into the car park of age exclusive housing provider Hanover Housing Association.
The housing professionals held a team building day with a difference as they split into two teams to wash cars and raise money for their chosen charities.
Inspired by the BBC show, the group split into teams- 'Team 1' and 'Staff council superstars'. The task was to wash as many cars as possible within four hours and raise as much money as possible for their nominated charities.
Both teams armed themselves with buckets, Micro fiber Mitts and an endless supply of shampoo and water as they descended upon Hanover’s head office car park in Bridge Close, Staines.
Towards the end of the day retired technical manager Howard Allen brought his prize possession, an Aston Martin DB9 for a clean and polish.
He said: “I am normally very cautious where I go to get my car cleaned. “But I have to say they haven’t done a bad job."
At the end of the day Team 1 managed to clean 22 cars and Staff council superstars cleaned 16.Between them they managed to raise £390 for Macmillian Cancer research and Centerpoint.
Ian Edwards from Hanover, said; “ It was a fantastic effort from both teams with Staff Council Superstars winning the contest after raising more money.
