Bishop of Dorchester, Rt Rev Colin Fletcher, is signed up to Oxford Credit Union by Richard Josephs, Manager of OCU, at the Soha Housing sub-office of OCU
Today is International Credit Union Day, spotlighting the work of the growing number of these community banks in the UK.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, leader of the Church of England, has pledged to help credit unions to become bigger and better known to compete effectively with high interest lenders.
Bishop of Dorchester, the Rt Rev Colin Fletcher, visited a partnership between the Oxford Credit Union and social landlord Soha Housing in Didcot today.
Richard Josephs, Manager of OCU (seen here signing up Bishop Colin to be a member of the Credit Union at Soha’s offices) says, “Credit Unions are a good, not-for-profit alternative to high street banks for savers and even low-level savers can apply for loans within 3 months. Tenants can join up at the OCU office in Oxford or at Soha in Didcot.”
