Two prominent figures from the world of social housing provided food for thought when they addressed frontline professionals and residents at the MNRI (Midlands Network for Resident Involvement) conference in the Midlands.
Phil Morgan, former CEO of TPAS and Executive Director of the TSA, and Jeff James, Deputy CEO of Chartered Institute of Housing, were guest speakers at the MNRI’s 3rd annual conference.
Sally Debiage, Vice-Chair of MNRI and a Customer Involvement Officer at Friendship Care and Housing (Friendship) said “It’s fabulous to be part of such a successful day. The guest speakers were great, on trend and made you stop and think and our customers got to meet up with other like-minded people, sharing ideas and learning from one another”.
The conference, held at Wolverhampton Racecourse, attracted over 250 housing staff and social housing tenants from across the region. Workshops on the day included: ASB, Save Energy – Save Money, What can the CIH do for me?, Lessons from the Direct Payment, and Could you spot a loan shark?
The awards ceremony held at the end of the day, celebrated Tenant of the Year, Young tenant of the Year, Resident Involvement Officer of the Year and the Organisation that has shown a real commitment to involving it’s residents.
