Labour blasts Boris for ‘dithering’ over housing strategy

Labour London Assembly Housing spokesperson Tom Copley has accused Mayor Boris Johnson of “dithering” and running a “shambles” over his Housing Strategy.
“Rents and house prices are sky rocketing while over a million Londoners languish on council housing waiting lists. It is staggering that against the backdrop of this crisis the mayor is due to launch yet another draft Housing Strategy for consultation without having ever published the final strategy he consulted on two years ago,” Copley said. “What absolute dither and delay from this mayor. To call it a shambles is generous.”
The Mayor’s current draft ‘Revised London Housing Strategy’ was published for consultation in December 2011.
There was no immediate response from City Hall.
