A gang of youths who hounded a heavily pregnant social housing tenant out of her home have been banned from a Manchester housing estate.
Northwards Housing stepped in and secured anti-social behaviour orders against the youths after they subjected the woman and her family to a seven-month campaign of abuse.
Darius Anderson, 17, of Ashley Lane, Jacob Smith, 16, of Brantwood Terrace, and Tyrone Anderson, 17, of Bordale Avenue, all from Harpurhey, were handed the two-year ASBOs at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court this week.
The thugs threw stones, hurled vicious verbal abuse at their victim and threatened her family. The victim was so intimidated by the abuse that her midwife feared for the safety of her unborn child.
Mike Stevens, Northwards' director of neighbourhood services, said: “This gang tried to intimidate and threaten a heavily pregnant woman. That is a despicable and deplorable act.
“We won’t tolerate that and we acted swiftly and decisively to stop them in their tracks."
