Over 450 staff attended the 2013 Lewisham Homes Staff Conference on 13 September, held at the historic Broadway Theatre in south east London. The event was themed around Lewisham Home's six corporate values, and recognised the hard work and dedication of staff in the six categories.
Ahead of the conference, staff were asked to nominate colleagues and teams who they felt truly demonstrated the Lewisham Homes values of collaboration, passion, recognition, empathy, trust and challenge. Staff attending the event were given voting pads and asked to vote for their favourites in the individual and team categories in each value.
Staff also got into the ‘values’ spirit by filming spoof scenes from ‘Rocky’, as they ‘trained’ for the conference. ‘Passion’ was right up there, with another take on Queen’s megahit ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, bringing roars of laughter from the audience. The conference began with Value Family Fortunes! Based on a TV game show with a similar name (!), two teams battled it out to correctly guess staff responses to a survey about how they demonstrated the values in their everyday work. Despite a valiant effort, staff - the Lewisham Ladies - were beaten by the Executive Management Team.
Also celebrated at the event was Gill Moore, Voids Team Manager, for completing 40 years’ service with Lewisham Homes and Lewisham Council. Gill was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Lewisham Homes’ Chief Executive, Andrew Potter.
Values Family Fortunes was presented by presenter, event host and presentation skills specialist Terry Turnball.
