AmicusHorizon celebrates success at the CIPD People Management Awards
AmicusHorizon has won a prestigious award for corporate social responsibility.
The CIPD People Management Awards (PMAs) recognises outstanding achievements in people management and development, and the impact it has on business success.
The housing association was named the winner of the Corporate Social Responsibility award. Within this category, judges were looking for entries that illustrated the key role HR has played in embedding an ethical and sustainable approach to business.
AmicusHorizon’s HR department has developed a staff-led Corporate Social Responsibility campaign under the banner ‘Giving Something Back’.
The scheme has been embraced by everyone across the organisation, including members of the senior management team who have taken part in sponsored walks and the 3 Peaks Challenge.
The project has enabled staff to dedicate both work time and personal time to helping others through voluntary work and fundraising activities. This has encouraged team building and allowed people to work flexibly in supporting the communities they serve.
So far, the project has raised £34,000 for a variety of local and national charities. Staff have devoted 6,000 hours to charitable causes, benefiting over 500 residents and 1,000 members of the general public.
Tina Edwards, Head of Organisational Development at AmicusHorizon, said: "We believe that all businesses should try to give back to the wider community. It’s about making a lasting difference to people’s lives. We’re delighted the hard work and dedication shown by all of our staff has been recognised with such a prestigious award."
The CIPD PMAs are open to all types of organisations, regardless of size or sector. Others shortlisted in the Corporate Social Responsibility category were AXA PPP healthcare, RBS M&IB and Telefonica UK.
