The RHI will be introduced into the Domestic sector in April 2014 and as ever Space Air Altherma is ready with MCS accredited Daikin Altherma Air Source Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal option packs!
The RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) is the world’s first long-term financial support scheme for renewable heat. As of April 2014, the RHI will provide financial support to the domestic sector for renewable heat, including Air Source Heat pumps and Solar Thermal technologies.
The support for Air Source Heat Pumps will be paid at a set rate per unit of renewable heat produced (kilowatt hour or kWh), for seven years, to the owner of the heating system.
The tariff has been set at 7.3p/kWh for Air source Heat Pumps and 19.2p/kWh for Solar Thermal. Also applicants installing heat pumps will receive an extra £230 if they install heat metering and monitoring service packages.
The RHI is one of the Government’s efforts to meet greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. To apply for the RHI scheme, applicants must complete a Green Deal Assessment to ensure they are meeting minimum energy efficient requirements.
