Two Stockport Homes employees who have recently graduated at Salford University have even more to celebrate, with a host of additional awards between them.
Gemma Hamilton, Recovery Officer achieved a 1st class foundation degree in Housing Practice (FdSc), won ‘Graduate of the Year’ for Salford University and was awarded ‘Academic Achievement’ by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) North West. She has now been nominated for ‘Academic Achievement’ by the CIH on a national level.
Jamie Byrne, Environmental Projects Co-ordinator achieved a 1st class honours degree in Building Surveying and also won the ‘University Prize for Building Surveying’ as well as the ‘College Prize for Academic Excellence’ as recognition for achieving the highest mark across all built environment disciplines.
Stockport Homes supported Gemma and Jamie by allowing time off to attend university and sit exams, as well as providing relevant funding.
Sam Netherwood, Stockport Homes’ Learning and Development Officer said, “We’re immensely proud of Jamie and Gemma’s achievements. Undertaking a qualification alongside your day job is difficult enough, but to attain 1st class degrees and be awarded such prestigious accolades is remarkable. They have been great advocates for Stockport Homes and for the benefits of undertaking a Professional Qualification.”
