Plans to build supported residential accommodation on land in Coningsby Street in Hereford have been given the go-ahead.
Sanctuary Group’s detailed planning application was approved by Herefordshire Council on 31 July, allowing the leading housing and care provider to move forward with its proposals to build 10 one bedroom apartments on the site.
Gareth Scannell, Sanctuary’s development manager, said: “These will be high quality affordable homes, designed to meet the needs of those requiring supported accommodation in Hereford.”
He confirmed that Sanctuary is in the process of appointing the lead contractor for the project, due for completion next autumn, and that they would be looking to offer local training and employment opportunities on site during construction.
This development is part of the wider regeneration taking place in Hereford city centre.
