A new DIY service which has just been introduced to Two Rivers Housing tenants has had a fantastic response.
The new Handyperson PLUS introduced by Two Rivers in July offers a number of services around the home and garden to its 3,800 tenants. This service includes smaller tasks, such as hedge cutting and garden tidy-ups, to decorating whole rooms. All this is done for a modest charge.
Although in its early days the service has had a positive reception, with a variety of jobs having been requested and completed. A popular job during these summer months is to have outside taps replaced or fitted and garden tidy-ups. Nina Buffin, from Coleford recently had her garden tidied. She says: “I am ever so pleased with the work and will definitely be using the service again. Karl, the Handyperson was very friendly and did a wonderful job of the garden.”
The Handyperson PLUS service builds on the popular Handyperson service which has been around for over 10 years where tenants can have small odd jobs around their home done for free. The Handyperson PLUS service was established in response to requests by tenants and suggestions by staff that discovered that there was a requirement for these types of jobs to be done.
Emma Towler, Community Involvement Co-ordinator said: “Handyperson PLUS is a great option for some of our tenants who are unable to do these DIY tasks themselves. For many of our tenants to know that this reliable support is available and at a reasonable price is a comfort to them.”
