Local employer unveils plans for new offices in Worcester

Leading housing and care provider Sanctuary Group unveiled its proposals for a new office building in the heart of Worcester at a public consultation last week. Sanctuary is one of the largest employers in the city centre and the new building due to be built on Farrier Street will be an addition to its existing offices at Chamber Court, where currently over 800 staff are employed.
At the event, held at The Hive, the proposals for the new building were on display and the public were given the opportunity to talk directly with members of the Sanctuary project team to find out more about the development and discuss any questions they had. A Sanctuary staff consultation was also carried out, whereby employees at Chamber Court were given the same opportunities. A variety of feedback has been submitted by Sanctuary staff and local residents and businesses, which will be taken into consideration before finalising the proposals for the new building.
Peter Martin, Sanctuary’s group director of development said: “This is an exciting project to deliver in Worcester and it is vital that Sanctuary communicates and discusses the proposals with local residents and businesses to hear their views. The feedback given at both the staff and public consultations will be invaluable in shaping our plans.
“Our aim is to use the project to generate employment and training opportunities, including apprenticeships for young people, and to encourage our contractors to use local suppliers and to recruit from the local area.”
