Another momentous fundraising year is being celebrated by employees of Shoreline Housing Partnership with a cheque presentation of over £8000 to Humberston Hydrotherapy Pool.
Chosen charity of the year 2012-13 – the hydro pool makes a real difference to local people of North East Lincolnshire offering therapy to pupils who attend Humberston Park Special School Academy and individuals within the community who have severe physical impairment or medical condition.
Money has poured in from generous employees through a series of fun events over the past year including fish and chip quiz suppers, dress down days, bake a cake sales and even two pence pieces lining the outside of the main headquarters.
Thousands was raised at the annual ball which this year took a 1960s theme and saw money raised on the night match funded by Barclays Bank.
Shoreline employee Ann Maggs MBE said: “As always we like to raise funds for worthwhile local charities that provide important services to individuals across North East Lincolnshire.
“Humberston Hydrotherapy Pool certainly does that – running an excellent and really unique facility which changes the lives of individuals in the area.
“We’re really proud that once again we have managed to raise such a fantastic amount.
“We would like to thank all our employees, their family and friends, as well as our partnering agencies for their generous support. Particularly the kind people of Barclays Bank who match funded the money we raised at our annual ball while providing volunteers and support on the night.”
In addition, a team of Shoreline employees slept rough in support of Sleep Easy 2013, spacehopped across the Humber Bridge, ‘tashed up for Movember, shaved heads for Red Nose Day and donated one tonne of food to the Grimsby Telegraph food parcel campaign.
The latest donation takes the employee fundraising total to over £60,000 in just a few years.
Fundraising plans continue apace with Cleethorpes RNLI officially announced as charity of the year 2013/14.
