Kier has been named preferred partner by Aberdeenshire Council for a £1.25m contract to provide a repairs and maintenance service to its housing stock in the South Marr region. This follows the recent award by the council of an £8m contract, which has seen Kier carrying out minor works and repairs and maintenance to the schools and public buildings portfolio in the north of the Aberdeenshire for the past four months.
The contracts, which have the potential to cover the next five years, will see Kier provide all aspects of building maintenance and repairs services on a 24-hour, 365-day basis to over 470 Council-owned buildings and nearly 760 houses.
Aberdeenshire Council’s head of property, Allan Whyte, said: “We are very pleased to confirm that Kier is one of our new term maintenance contractors and look forward to working with them to ensure that our property portfolio continues to meet the high standards our staff and residents expect.”
Kier regional director, Mike Furze said: “We are delighted to be working with Aberdeenshire Council to deliver this vital work to schools and public buildings. We look forward to working closely with them to further enhance Kier’s well-established status as a leading provider of public sector maintenance services.”
