Guests at Spire Homes' new homes in Weedon-Bec
Spire Homes are proud to announce the completion of their first homes in the Daventry district, and Chairman John Farrar welcomed guests at a ceremony in Weedon-Bec on 8th August including Daventry District Council Chairman Councillor Chris Long and wife Viv.
Guests toured the new homes and had the opportunity to meet the excited tenants who have recently moved in.
The need for affordable and social housing is on the rise, as it’s becoming increasingly difficult for people to buy their own homes or to rent in the private sector. And with plans to build a further 97 homes in the area Spire Homes are taking a proactive role to tackle the housing shortage and play their part in addressing the housing crisis.
The development has a good mix of designs and sizes and includes 7 affordable rent* and 4 shared ownership homes, with a mixed tenure of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes. The affordable rent homes are also designed to meet the Homes and Communities Agency’s Design and Quality Standards. Through commitment to building energy efficient homes and cutting household bills all of the properties have Code of Sustainable Homes Level 3 standard.
“It is great to be working in partnership to develop these homes – these are our first in the Daventry area and we are excited to build even more in the near future, as they help provide an affordable roof over the heads of those who really need them” said Julie Doyle, Managing Director of Spire Homes.
The scheme was delivered in partnership with Redrow Homes and Longhurst Group, and was supported by Homes and Communities Agency.
