National housing provider for the over 55’s, Hanover Housing Association, in partnership with catering provider Caterplus Services Ltd are treating Hanover residents from each of its north region extra care housing developments to a series of 50th anniversary celebratory tea parties.
In true come dine with me tradition residents are being treated to a selection of culinary delights such as sandwiches, scones, éclairs, and a special celebratory cake.
99 year old year old Mary Stockdale said:" It gets a ten out of ten in my book.
“It’s not quite afternoon tea at the Ritz but it’s as close as it can be.
Hanover is 50 this year and there has been a fair bit of anticipation over how the organisation is celebrating this important anniversary. A variety of ideas have been gathered from residents, staff and our Hanover’s board of directors which has created a programme of activities being rolled out throughout the year. Recent activities have included a series of fundraisers and the commissioning of nine think tank pieces which will help shape Hanover’s vision for the next 50 years.
Rachel Stone: “General Manager Caterplus said: “We are delighted to join Hanover in celebrating this anniversary event and being given the opportunity to sponsor the Afternoon Tea. Since we started at Sandringham Court, we have focused on listening to what the residents would like to see on their menus and ensuring top quality meals are produced. As a company we use only the finest fresh ingredients and take great pride in preparing fresh home cooked meals. This fresh food approach has gone down a storm with the residents."
Tom Brown Head of operations north added: “The afternoon teas have proved to be a real hit with residents.
Earlier this year appointed Caterplus as our preferred catering provider for the region. They not only displayed a flexible approach but also in depth knowledge when catering for our residents."
