Isos Housing has appointed a new executive director of development and property.
Michael Farr will take on responsibility for a £20 million budget to build, repair, maintain and modernise Isos' 12,000 properties across the North East.
Having been with the social landlord for a decade, Mr Farr was offered the chance to head up the department in which he had been assistant director for the past two years.
He said: “I think the biggest challenges are reducing levels of grant we are getting to build and maintain our properties and the issues surrounding welfare reform which are impacting upon many of our residents.
“On the plus side, the good reputation that Isos has earned and the fact that we are financially strong means that organisations are keen to work with us to improve the housing provision in the region.”
