HouseMark has announced the appointment of a new board member.
Steve Trusler, strategy director at Wates Living Space, joins as a Chartered Institute of Housing-appointed director, and is also a member of the CIH governing board.
The CIH is one of HouseMark’s two shareholders and oversees and supports the company in its business strategy. All profits paid to the CIH are reinvested back into the sector.
Mr Trusler has over 30 years’ experience in affordable housing and is a passionate supporter of continuous improvement and innovation in the housing industry.
Mr Trusler said: “I am pleased to join the HouseMark board at this time, just as the company embarks on a change programme anchored by its new Five Year Vision. I am a firm believer the most successful service businesses fully understand their customers’ needs and their operating markets so they can anticipate and design the products and services they require. I aim to support the board and executive team by enhancing its understanding of the increasingly diverse business strategies of its members.”
Jon Sawyer, chair of the HouseMark board said: “We are delighted to welcome Steve to our board. Steve’s knowledge, experience and commercial acumen will be invaluable in helping HouseMark support our members in responding to new commercial challenges.”
HouseMark is a provider of performance improvement and value for money solutions to the social housing sector, with over 950 member organisations. It is jointly owned by the CIH and the National Housing Federation.
