Housing minister Mark Prisk is to open a new flexicare housing scheme this Friday.
The event will mark the completion of a £7m development for older people by Riversmead Housing association.
Calton Court, which benefited from a £3.5m grant from the Homes and Communities Agency and £600,000 from East Herts Council, will offer residents care and support 24 hours a day.
Residents and their families will join Riversmead staff, the project's contractor Hill Partnerships, architect Kyle Smart Associates and care provider Saga Homecare for an afternoon of celebrations, which will include a guided tour of the scheme’s state-of-the-art facilities.
The scheme, which is based in Hertford, will also house a doctor’s surgery which will be open to both Calton Court residents and the wider community.
Chris Wright of Riversmead said: “The opening event will be a fantastic way to celebrate the completion of Calton Court and thank residents for their cooperation and support throughout the development process. We are extremely proud of what has been achieved here, and hope residents will be happy in their new homes.
