Greenfields Community Housing has been named as one of the best companies to work for in the not-for-profit sector by The Sunday Times.

Essex-based Greenfields, which has around 240 employees, has been ranked as the 56th best company to work for within the sector in the UK; based on an extensive survey which asks all employees about various aspects of their working environment. Additionally, Greenfields has achieved a One Star status from Best Companies, and was named runner up for a special Wellbeing Award at the ceremony on Wednesday 27th February 2013.

The Best Companies employee survey helps to identify how strongly employees feel about Greenfields’ performance in different areas, including leadership, management, team and personal growth. Greenfields scored particularly highly in the ‘my team’ and ‘giving something back’ categories. The survey also helps to identify areas of best practice through comparisons with otherUKorganisations.

Phil Adams, Greenfields’ Chief Executive, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and extremely proud to be named as one of the best companies to work for in the Sunday Times list, especially as we have only just turned five years old. We are very keen to build on our success and to keep Greenfields as an employer of choice; as well as improving on areas that may have been identified in the survey results. Our employees are integral to our achievements and the organisation benefits from a trusted, inspiring and dedicated work force. We work together to achieve our aims and it shows.”

Greenfields has a Health and Wellbeing Programme, which involves encouraging employees to be accredited to be ‘Health Champions’. They can then help others to take part in activities ranging from weight-loss programmes and giving up smoking to entering the Three Peaks Challenge.
