Housing chief collects OBE from Princess Anne

A housing chief was presented with her OBE by Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace today.
Sue Chalkley OBE, chief executive of Hastoe Housing Association, was given the accolade in the Queen's New Year Honours list in recognition of her contribution to housing and tenants.
Sue is a founder member of the National Housing Federation Rural Alliance and has lobbied on behalf of people in need of affordable rural homes.
She said: “It is a real honour to be recognised in this way and in particular for the good work Hastoe does for rural communities. At Hastoe, we deliver quality homes that people can afford and we invest in people and communities.”
Sue joined Hastoe in 2007 and has worked in social housing for 37 years.
She was previously a director at Gallions Housing Association and Regional Director (South East) at Housing 21. Sue is also a Trustee of the National Flood Forum.
Hastoe manages over 5,000 homes in southern England.
