Equity Housing Group is helping customers to get a better deal from energy suppliers. 

Last year, the Group negotiated a deal with suppliers that helped save thousands of pounds on its energy bills for communal areas in low rise flats and housing schemes. These savings were passed on to customers. 

More recently, Equity has been promoting My Home Energy Switch to customers through its Contact Centre, website and by distributing leaflets and information directly. 

In a four week period:

• 11 customers switched over to a cheaper tariff saving them a total £728.90
• 7 customers obtained clearance codes, wiping £469.54 worth of debt off their accounts
• 1 customer had their meter replaced with a lower cost alternative

Equity’s Money Advice Officer, Shaheeda Bashir said; “We are doing everything we can to support our customers and help them get better value for money. This is a great outcome and hopefully it will encourage more customers to review their current energy arrangements.”
