Longhurst Group is driving home its reputation for excellence after being nominated for a fleet industry award.  Longhurst Group has been shortlisted for ‘Fleet of the Year’ in the category for up to 250 vehicles in the 2013 Fleet News Awards.

The Fleet News Awards have been recognising the best people, companies and vehicles in the fleet industry for 25 years and are considered to be the most influential accolade by fleet professionals. The shortlist is reserved for those organisations and individuals who demonstrate a detailed understanding of fleet management and relevant legislation alongside a commitment to cost control, training and staff improvement.

Paula Maxwell, Car Fleet Manager for Longhurst Group, co-ordinates the fleet for the Group and oversaw the award application.

“I went along to Bauer Media Offices in Peterborough in February to deliver a presentation illustrating what makes our fleet great and then answered questions from four leading professionals in the fleet world.  In my presentation I highlighted the commitment that Longhurst Group have to driver training and the ways we are looking to reduce costs in the fleet area. I’m so pleased that we’ve made the shortlist and I will be at the ceremony on the 20^th March with my fingers crossed hoping to hear our name called as the winner of this prestigious award.”
