Westminster residents invited to housing information day

NETWORK Stadium residents and the wider community who are looking to find out more about benefit changes are invited to attend a fun and informative open day at the Stowe Centre in Westminster.

The event, organised by housing association Network Stadium, will take place on Monday, February 25th from 10am until 5pm. With many government benefits currently under review the open day will give local residents the chance to find out more about what the reforms will mean to them, as well as get advice on local job opportunities, CV writing, council services and wellbeing and community support.

Network Stadium executive director Susmita Sen will open the day at 10.30a.m. and Labour MP for Westminster North, Karen Buck, will also be in attendance.

Network Stadium executive director, Susmita Sen said: “The current changes being made to the benefit system means it is a time of change and worry for many of our residents. To make sure that they, and the wider community, are equipped with the right information we have partnered with several professional agencies to offer in-depth support and advice to those who need it.

“We hope many local residents will make it along to this fantastic event which is a first for Network Stadium. The day will provide residents with valuable advice on Welfare Reforms, Universal Credit, money issues and debt problems amongst other topics. It will also be a chance to relax and enjoy the entertainment on offer.”

Participants will get the chance to take part in craft workshops and have Indian head massages. A magician will be entertaining crowds from 3pm onwards and there will be goodie bag giveaways and a raffle as well as food and other refreshments on offer.

Partners and contributors include Jobcentre Plus, Brent Community Law Centre, Westminster Mind, National Careers Service, Reed, Energy Solutions, CityWest Homes, Paddington Timebank and Groundwork.
