Housing association Metropolitan has appointed a new chair of its board.
Paula Kahn has experience as a CEO and senior manager in the private sector and has held a number of chair and director positions in the public, community and not-for-profit sectors. She is currently chair of the NHS North Central London Cluster.
Ms Kahn will take up the position in May after a handover period with the current chair, Barbara Roche, who is concluding the end of her six-year term.
Paula Kahn said: “I am extremely pleased to be appointed as chair of the Metropolitan board. There is a lot of work to do, particularly as the housing and care and support sectors are changing so dramatically; I am looking forward to working with the Metropolitan board to help shape the future direction of the organisation to meet these challenges.”
Barbara Roche added: “I am delighted with Paula’s appointment. She has a wealth of experience enabling organisations during a time of change and this will be highly valuable to Metropolitan. The organisation is under the leadership of a new chief executive, Brian Johnson, and I am sure together they will have a great impact on the services being delivered.”
Metropolitan manages over 36,000 homes across England.
