For Liverpool-based BME Housing Association Pine Court, Chinese New Year was the perfect occasion to increase their number of involved tenants (as well as joining in with the celebrations of course).
With their tenant base being predominantly Chinese, it was fitting for the event to be held in Liverpool’s China Town, a stone’s throw away from the majority of the housing stock.
Pine Court – part of the Sovini Group which also includes Sefton’s One Vision Housing – invited all their tenants to a six course buffet, which also served as an opportunity to engage with tenants with the hope of signing many up for future involvement with the organisation.
Following the event, Pine Court was able to set up a customer panel of more than 30 tenants and a Service Review Group which will look at a range of different areas including repairs and neighbourhood issues.
Pine Court Tenant Mrs Sui Kiu Lam said: “Pine Court put on a fantastic event. It’s been lovely to come together and meet the community and I’m really looking forward to getting involved as a tenant.”
In keeping with the Chinese New Year theme, all tenants also received a traditional red envelope with chocolate money and fortune cookies.
