Spire Homes shortlisted for TPAS Excellence in the Community award

Spire Homes have lots to celebrate – as their Community Grants Fund initiative has been shortlisted for the TPAS Central region award for ‘Excellence in the Community’.
The Community Grants Fund helps and supports tenants and wider communities with grants of up to £5,000 that will help to improve neighbourhoods, help people access education or training to get back in to work, and gives support to those who need an extra hand. This year, to coincide with the Government’s benefit changes, grants will be more focused around getting people back in to work through training and education.
“We are over the moon that we have been shortlisted - the fund is a great way for Spire Homes to help people in our local communities, and I’m pleased everyone involved has received recognition for all of their hard work and effort! So far we have awarded over £37,000 – and our main focus this year is to help tenants get back in to work through training. I’d like to say good luck and let’s hope Spire win!” said Julie Doyle, Managing Director.
The awards recognise both individual and collaborative initiatives that have had made a real difference to people’s lives and their wider communities. The final is being held on 12 April 2013 and if Spire Homes win, they will be entered into the National finals which will be held later this year.
