A rising star in the housing sector has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Claire Grieve, who works at Salford-based housing provider Salix Homes, has beat off competition from more than 100 other entrants to reach the final 12 of the 2013 Young Leaders Award.
The competition is run by 24 Housing magazine and recognises talented young professionals from across the housing sector who represent the future of housing.
Claire, 29, from Salford, is the tenancy management service manager at Salix Homes and has worked for the social housing provider for 11 years.
She said: “It was a real surprise to find out I’d made the shortlist. I’m up against some really talented people so I’m truly honoured and very proud to have made the final 12.
“Like anyone, you just do your job and don’t expect to be recognised for it so to have this sort of recognition is just fantastic.”
Members of the public must now vote for who they think should make the final five. The five finalists will then go head-to-head in a series of rigorous tests that will give them the opportunity to prove their leadership credentials to the judging panel.
Warren Carlon, head of operational services at Salix Homes, said: “I put Claire forward for this award because she has really impressed us with her leadership skills.
“She is popular with her co-workers and is a real asset to the team, which is why I’m so pleased she has been recognised for all her hard work
“Everyone at Salix Homes is really proud of Claire for making the final 12 and I would urge everyone to vote for her.”
You can vote for Claire at www.24dash.com and voting closes on February 18.
