H3 (Helping the Homeless into Housing) is delighted to get additional funding from the charity Crisis to deliver the increasingly successful HomeFinder Scheme.
HomeFinder helps homeless applicants on low incomes to move into good quality accommodation in the private sector, even if they cannot afford a deposit. The scheme liaises with landlords on their behalf and underwrites their deposits.
This funding is vital because the scheme is currently oversubscribed. To date, 24 people have been housed, 86 applications have been accepted and another 54 are pending.
Susan Ash, H3 Secretary said, “The HomeFinder Scheme is brilliant, I am really pleased that we have managed to help so many people, and the more people we continue to help the better.”
Dominic Walker, HomeFinder Scheme Assistant, Stockport Homes said, “It is fantastic news that we have been awarded a second year of funding. There is a lot of hard work still to be done but it’s great to be able to help people sustain their tenancies over a long period of time.”
