Under 11s football team
A team of future football stars in Tynemouth is set for a warmer winter thanks to a donation of coats by repairs and maintenance provider, Kier North Tyneside. The Tynemouth United under 11s football team received the donation after the team’s manager, David Matthews, requested support from Kier through its corporate request process.
Mr Matthews said: “The kids were getting very chilly on the side lines during practice so I thought maybe Kier could help. We are very grateful for Kier’s support, and are looking forward to continuing our winning streak despite the cold weather.”
The Tynemouth United under 11s, which consists of 14 youngsters from the local area, are currently residing in third place in the PPRL Bundesliga 1 League.
Kier regional director, Mike Furze, commented: “As a local employer, we are always keen to support good causes within the areas we work in, as well as support groups and clubs that help to promote an active lifestyle for young people. The football team have had some great successes over the last couple of months and we hope to see big things from them this year.”
Providing repairs and maintenance services to 16,000 properties across the borough on behalf of North Tyneside Council, Kier North Tyneside has a history of supporting local causes and organisations.
