Proposed frontage
WORCESTER Community Housing (WCH) has announced plans for the redevelopment of the former Heenans Social Club site in Sansome Place.
If approved the development will create a new county-wide partnership scheme for single homeless people. It will involve all local district councils, Worcestershire County Council and also homeless service provider, St. Pauls.
The proposals see the current building frontage retained with the main £2 million redevelopment happening to the rear. It includes:
- Sixteen studio apartments
- Facilities for life skills training;
- Meeting rooms;
- Office accommodation for St Paul’s management, administration, resettlement and outreach services;
- Amenity space;
- Parking.
WCH Housing and Customer Services Director Helen Scarrett said:"We are committed to working in partnership and to making a positive difference to local lives. The provision of good quality accommodation for single people who have experienced homelessness, is a crucial part of this work.
WCH is looking to submit a planning application in February 2013 and subject to planning determination, hope to start on site in October 2013.
