A housing association is seeking people who are interested in helping to lead the organisation as it approaches its 95th year.
Railway Housing Association, which has 1,400 homes across the UK has a rare vacancy on its Board of Trustees.
The vacancy is open to residents of the Association and members of the public who would be keen to contribute to the continued success of the organisation, which celebrates its 95th year in 2014.
The successful candidate would receive full training and support and travel and other expenses are paid by the Association. They would be required to attend meetings at the organisation’s head office in Darlington around six times a year, plus occasional briefing sessions.
Anne Rowlands, Chief Executive of Railway Housing Association, said: “deally we are seeking to someone with good communication and interpersonal skills and with some experience of either legal, technical or community development matters, although this is not essential.
“We would particularly welcome applications from women and from members of the black & minority ethnic community, as they are currently under-represented on our Board.
“We believe this is an exciting opportunity, giving an individual the chance to contribute to the continued success of the Association, as well as giving them experience of working at board level in a multi-million pound social business.”
Interested people can contact Karen West (PA to the Chief Executive) on 01325 373035. The closing date for applications is 28th February 2013.
