Young Leaders 2013 - Time running out to enter Young Leaders 2013 - Time running out to enter

Time is running out to enter this year's 24housing Young Leaders Award.

Now in its third year, the award - sponsored by Network Recruitment Partnership - is calling on housing providers to nominate candidates but they only have until January 21 to do so.

Following careful selection, the top 10 candidates will battle it out in an online vote with the top five going through to be profiled in the magazine and set a series of tasks - including assessment by a prestigious panel of housing experts.

As part of her prize for winning the 2012 Young Leaders award, Sara Parkin, housing advice manager at Futures Homescape, had the opportunity to meet the housing minister, spend a day shadowing National Housing Federation chief David Orr and received an iPad.

She also had dinner at the House of Commons and guest-edited last November's issue of 24housing magazine!

Sara said: “The best things about winning were the nomination from my team and the support and recognition from my colleagues. Winning has given me the chance to see national housing leaders at work and a fantastic opportunity to develop myself as a person and a leader and give something back to my team!”

This year’s winner will also receive a short course in management or leadership worth up to the value of £1,500.

Apply now – it’s easy!

Anyone from your organisation can nominate candidates provided those put forward are 30 or under at the time of entry.

All we are asking for at this stage is a 200-word outline of the three most important values candidates demonstrate as leaders.

All housing organisations are invited to apply including housing associations, co-operatives, charities, ALMOs and local authority housing departments.
