The SLH Group is delighted to be named one of the top organisations to work for in a national survey developed by Best Companies which recognises corporate excellence in workplace engagement.

The SLH Group, an association of social enterprises including a housing association, which provides employment, training and development to over 70 staff, has been awarded a three star ‘extraordinary’ rating – the highest possible in the Best Companies Accreditation scheme.  In short, this means that The SLH Group is officially a great place to work.

The assessment follows a highly rigorous methodology which identifies workplace performance and best practice according to eight key factors such as how good leadership is, how good the company is, and what opportunities there are for personal development.  These eight factors are considered critical for a highly engaged workplace.  The assessment is particularly significant as it has been achieved through the results from a process which saw over 91% of employees complete a confidential, anonymous, and voluntary survey.

This achievement is made even more remarkable given the group’s one star accreditation awarded last year and underlines the continued transformation in the group led by Julie Fadden, its Chief Executive who is delighted with the result.  “This is fantastic news” she said. “To be awarded the highest accreditation and to improve from one to three stars in 12 months is a remarkable achievement and confirms that our culture is one of the best.  We take great pride in this award because it is based on honest feedback from our staff and is testament to the hard work delivered every day to make our neighbourhoods fantastic places to live in.  We firmly believe that listening to, supporting, and developing our staff has a direct impact on the high levels of service our customers receive.”

In return for completing the surveys, and regardless of the feedback, the organisation promised to make charitable donations of £10 for every survey returned raising over £700 to be shared equally between the staff chosen charities Alzheimer’s Society and Help for Heroes.

The Best Companies result precedes the prestigious Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for list and The SLH Group will discover whether they have made it onto the list on 27th February.
