A2Dominion Group has transferred 581 of its properties in Gosport to The Hyde Group in a effort to deliver a better level of service to residents.

The transfer, which includes a mixture of leasehold, social rent and shared ownership properties, was completed yesterday.

Residents were consulted prior to the transfer to find what they wanted from a new housing association - with a more locally-based landlord coming out as top priority.

Both providers say that they have been working hard to ensure tenants experience a seamless transition.

Nicholas Yeeles, A2Dominion’s executive director (Commercial, London), said: "This latest transfer marks the completion of the first phase of our stock rationalisation programme, which has involved more than 2,300 homes being transferred or swapped during 2012 to eight recipient housing associations across London, the South East and Cambridgeshire.

"The aim of our rationalisation programme is to deliver more locally-based services to residents and ensure efficient and cost-effective management of our homes."

Steve White, chief executive at Hyde, said: "We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Gosport Borough Council for the first time on this project.

"This stock transfer will enable us to welcome new residents to the Hyde family, providing them with the very best in housing services, while at the same time supporting Hyde’s ambition to continue to grow as a business.

"This acquisition complements our existing stock and enables us to expand our operations in the Hampshire area."

A2Dominion provides over 34,000 homes across London and southern England, whilst Hyde owns or manages over 47,000 properties throughout London, the South East and the East Midlands.
